All four plan options provide comprehensive coverage and include prescription drug benefits through Magellan Rx. Generally, in-network coverage is provided at 80% after you pay your annual deductible. They all cover certain preventive services at 100%. Here’s how they’re different:
The BCBS EPO requires you to use in-network providers only. The BCBS EPO includes copays for primary care and specialist office visits. Out-of-network services aren’t covered except for life-threatening emergencies.
In the UHC PPO, you must first meet a deductible before the plan will begin to share in the cost of non-preventive services.
The CDHPs have higher annual deductibles than the traditional plan options. In these plan options, you’ll pay the full negotiated rate for non-preventive medical services and prescription drugs until you meet the deductible.
The CDHPs include a tax-advantaged savings account feature, called a Health Savings Account (HSA). Together, these two components give you comprehensive medical coverage along with tools to help you make informed health care decisions so you can use your benefits and health care dollars wisely.
Check out the CDHP Resources for more details about how the CDHP with HSA works.
