Overview

Caterpillar offers you a safety net in the event you’re unable to work due to a serious illness or injury. If you become disabled, you may be eligible for salary continuation, short term disability (STD) and long term disability (LTD) benefits after you satisfy a waiting period. Pre-existing condition limitations may apply. See the Summary Plan Description for complete details.
Salary Continuation

Steps for Applying and Receiving Benefits
- Submit a claim — If you become or anticipate becoming disabled, you must submit a completed disability claim application within 30 calendar days of the first day of your disability, or your claim may be denied. You'll find the claim application here.
- Submit updates throughout your leave — Periodically throughout your disability, you'll be required to submit medical updates from your doctor.
- Arrange for your return to work — Before returning to work, you must contact your Disability Team Contact for specific arrangements.
