FSA Debit Card

FSA participants can use a debit card to pay for eligible expenses directly from their Health Care or Dependent Care FSA.

If you don't want to use it, no worries! Cut up the card and keep using the current reimbursement methods.

How do I use my card?

  • You can use it wherever MasterCard is accepted.
  • Fastest way: Choose “credit” when paying. If you pick “debit,” you’ll need a PIN (call UHC for one). After the purchase, sign the receipt (it’s your agreement that you understand the charge and you’re using the card for an eligible expense).
  • The payment will automatically be made from your account as long as you have enough money in it.
  • Always keep your receipts for your records. (If you currently have automatic transfer of funds set up for your FSA but want to use the debit card, you may need to adjust your reimbursement settings by logging into your UHC account or contacting UHC.)

Who can use my card?

  • You’ll get two—one for you, one for any dependents eligible for reimbursement under your FSA.
  • If you don’t need the second one, cut it up and throw it away.
  • If you keep it, make sure your dependent signs the back.
  • You can request more cards from UHC Customer Care at 1-866-755-2648.
