U.S. Flexible Spending Account
A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows you to set aside money for certain expenses before payroll deducts taxes from your paycheck. This means the amount of income your taxes are based on will be lower, so your tax liability will be lower. With an FSA, you can reduce your taxes while paying for things you’d have to pay for anyway.
Caterpillar offers two Flexible Spending Accounts:
- Health Care (General Purpose or Limited Purpose)
- Dependent (child or elder) Care
To access your FSA information or the FSA Tax Savings Calculator, go to myuhc.com > Claims & Accounts > Flexible Spending Account.
FSA DEBIT CARD
FSA participants can use a debit card to pay for eligible expenses directly from their Health Care or Dependent Care FSA. If you currently have automatic transfer of funds set up for your FSA but want to use the debit card, you may need to adjust your reimbursement settings by logging into your UHC account or contacting UHC.
Please Note: FSA debit cards will only be issued each new plan year to new Caterpillar FSA participants or if a new FSA debit card was requested. If you participated in the FSA in the previous plan year and elected to continue to participate the following year, your previous card will be loaded to use as permitted.

Eligibility & Enrollment
You may be eligible to enroll in an FSA if:
- You are a U.S. or ISE employee on the regular management or salaried payroll, and certain regular hourly employees of Caterpillar Inc. or any subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc. to whom the FSA Plan has been extended.
- You are eligible for medical benefits at the time of annual enrollment.
You must enroll in an FSA during annual enrollment or within 31 days of a qualified change in status, such as a birth or change in marital status. New employees who qualify for medical benefits during the Plan Year have 31 days from date of hire to enroll in an FSA.
If you don't have internet access, you may also enroll over the phone by calling the Caterpillar Health Enrollment Center at 1-833-735-2127.
Making changes to your FSA contribution amount
You may only make a change in the amount being contributed to your FSA when you have a qualified status change. For example, a request to increase your contribution would be consistent with the birth of a child.
